Lisa Marie Coyne, Esq. 

A resident of Cumberland County for most of her life,  Lisa Marie Coyne is a graduate of Cumberland Valley High School. Following high school, she obtained her B.A. from Franklin and Marshall College and then her Juris Doctorate from The Dickinson School of Law in 1988. Upon graduating from law school, Ms. Coyne was selected to serve as senior attorney law clerk to the President Judge of the Court of   Common Pleas of Cumberland County, the Honorable Harold E. Sheely.

Upon conclusion of her judicial clerkship, Ms. Coyne entered active military duty with the United States Army Judge Advocate General's Corps serving with the 1st Armored Division and then 3rd Infantry Division as Chief Trial Counsel (i.e., Prosecutor) in Bamberg,         Germany.  She is a recipient of the Army's Meritorious Service Medal for her service during Desert Storm.  Following the completion of her active duty military service, Ms. Coyne continued her military service as a Judge Advocate serving with the 28th Infantry Division of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.

In 1993, Ms. Coyne joined her father, Henry F. Coyne, in the General Practice of law with an emphasis in civil litigation, municipal law, zoning & real estate transactions, elder law, estate planning and administration, family law, and criminal defense.  She is admitted to practice before all Courts of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, and the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Pennsylvania and has argued cases before the Pennsylvania Superior Court, Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania, as well as the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.  


Ms. Coyne is the editor-in-chief of the Cumberland Law Journal and recently completed serving two consecutive terms as a member of the Board of Directors of the Cumberland County Bar Association.  She is  a founding member of the Cumberland County  Inns of Court, having served as the membership chair and currently holds the title of Master of the Inn.  In addition to her leadership within the local legal community, Attorney Coyne serves as a member of the House of Delegates of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, representing the interests of Cumberland County lawyers and the citizens they serve.  Additionally, and most recently, Ms. Coyne has been re-appointed to the Orphans' Court Procedural Rules Committee of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.   

As a leader within the local legal community, Attorney Coyne was instrumental in the formation and implementation of the Partners Program for local high schools throughout Cumberland County and served as the attorney "coach" for the Cumberland Valley High School Mock Trial team for many years.   Ms. Coyne remains active and involved in the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Cumberland County Inns of Court, and the Cumberland County Bar Association.
